Group SEVENTEEN member DK will enter the Army Training Center on the afternoon of the 8th.
According to his agency Pledis Entertainment, DK will enter the army training center today to begin his military service. He is the sixth member of SEVENTEEN to enlist, and his service period will last until March 7, 2028.
On the 7th, a day before his enlistment, DK held a live broadcast on the fan platform Weverse to bid a final farewell to fans.
Revealing his newly buzzed hair, he started the broadcast with his signature sweet demeanor, saying, "Hello, Carats. My head has become round." He also joked, "I shaved my head. Does it look good on me? I habitually try to sweep my hair back like this, but there is no hair."
However, while listening to music during the live broadcast, DK suddenly burst into tears. Wiping away his tears in a hurry, he confessed, "I gradually felt choked up while listening to the song. I didn't plan on crying. I am flustered. I'm sorry. I turned on the live broadcast to tell Carats that I will return safely, but I don't know why I am crying. Starting the live broadcast seems to make it feel real, so tears welled up without me realizing it. It's not that I am scared of going to the military."
Toward the end of the broadcast, DK signed off by blowing a hand kiss and saying, "I love you. I will miss you a lot," and finally shouting, "Loyalty!"
On the day of his enlistment, DK plans to enter the training center quietly, as the entry ceremony is a place shared with numerous fellow soldiers and their families. The agency added, "We ask for your unwavering love and support so that DK can faithfully fulfill his military duty and return in good health."
Previously, SEVENTEEN signed their second renewal with Pledis Entertainment last July, promising a long-lasting career.
