Russia and Ukraine continued launching attacks targeting grain export ports and oil refineries on the 7th local time, following discussions on a peace plan with the U.S. presidential special envoy.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in a social media post that day that Ukraine had attacked an oil refinery in Russia's Ryazan region.
The attack continued for the second consecutive day, following the previous day.
Ryazan is located about 500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border and is one of the areas housing Russia's major oil refining facilities.
President Zelenskyy also stated that targets included oil processing facilities in Russia's Perm region and the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as a drone launch facility in the Kursk region.
According to regional authorities in Russia, one person was killed in a drone attack in the Russian border region of Belgorod.
Meanwhile, Russia announced that it had attacked Ukraine's grain export ports of Izmail along the Danube River and Chornomorsk on the Black Sea.
Russia has been focusing its attacks on grain export ports coinciding with the wheat harvest season, which is a major export for Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian consultancy APK-Inform, Ukraine's weekly exports of wheat, corn, and barley from August 27 to September 2 amounted to 433,000 tons.
While this is an 80% increase compared to the previous week, it still falls far short of usual export levels, which historically hovered around 400 tons per month.
U.S. President Donald Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, visited Moscow and Kyiv consecutively over the weekend to discuss a peace plan with Russian President Vladimir Putin and subsequently with President Zelenskyy.
