Kim Ji-yong, a lawyer and former prosecutor, has been selected as the final candidate for the inaugural head of the Serious Crime Investigation Agency.
Minister of the Interior and Safety Yun Ho-jung announced during a briefing at the Government Complex-Seoul on the 7th that he plans to recommend lawyer Kim Ji-yong to President Lee Jae-myung as the first candidate for the chief of the Serious Crime Investigation Agency.
Candidate Kim was promoted to prosecutor in August 2020 under then-Minister Choo Mi-ae, in accordance with the policy favoring criminal and trial departments.
