The special counsel team tasked with investigating the ballot paper shortage and other issues that occurred during the June 3 local elections has officially launched.
Special Counsel Lee Tae-han held a signboard-hanging ceremony and stated, "This special investigation aims to protect the citizens' right to vote and restore fairness in elections," adding, "Bearing a heavy responsibility, we will conduct a swift and thorough investigation."
The special counsel team will begin its investigation today (the 7th) for a maximum of 150 days into various suspicions, including the ballot paper shortage, voter turnout manipulation, and junkets disguised as overseas business trips.
