Motorboat Sinks Off Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province; All Six People Aboard Rescued Safely

All six people aboard a motorboat that sank off the coast of Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, fell into the water but were safely rescued by the Coast Guard.

The Pyeongtaek Coast Guard reported that at around 10:20 a.m. today (Sept. 5), they received a report stating that a motorboat had sunk and six people had fallen into the water near Maseom Port in Dangjin.

Using coastal rescue boats from the Dangjin substation, the Coast Guard rescued all six people from the water approximately 20 minutes after receiving the report.

All of the rescued individuals were wearing life jackets. Although they complained of symptoms of hypothermia immediately after the rescue, fortunately, it was confirmed that there were no major health issues.
