A man in his 30s has been arrested by police after going to the home of his ex-girlfriend's sister with a weapon, following a restraining order issued for stalking her.
The Incheon Namdong Police Station announced today (the 3rd) that they have arrested a man in his 30s, referred to as A, on charges including preparation for murder and violation of the Act on Punishment of Stalking Crimes.
A is accused of going to the home of B, the older sister of his ex-girlfriend, at around 11:00 AM on August 31 with a weapon intending to kill her.
Investigators found that he knocked on the door at the time and then left the weapon in front of the door before departing.
A is also facing charges of having illicit relations with B when she was a minor.
Authorities also found that after breaking up with B, A sent threatening text messages to B's older sister—whom he had previously known—stating that he would "make her unhappy."
Police received a stalking report from B's older sister the day before the crime and issued A with Emergency Measures No. 1 (prohibition of approaching within 100 meters) and No. 2 (prohibition of approaching via telecommunications), but A reportedly committed the offense the following day.
Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the crime and forward A to the prosecution.
