With the opening of the 2026 Yeosu World Island Expo just two days away, all of Yeosu is bustling with preparations to welcome visitors. The local tourism industry has also united, pouring all its efforts into creating a friendly city.

This hotel is located right in front of Yeosu Expo Station.
Ahead of the opening of the World Island Expo, it is in full swing preparing for guests by remodeling rooms and convenience facilities.
[Representative, Yeosu 00 Hotel: We are currently making thorough preparations, including hygiene and kindness training, so that many tourists can stay and leave more comfortably.]
Restaurants aiming to captivate tourists' palates are just as busy.
They are firmly resolving to welcome guests with honest pricing, fresh ingredients, and friendly service.
[Kim Sang-mi / Owner, Yeosu 00 Restaurant: With the Island Expo being held in Yeosu, we have high expectations. Many outsiders will be visiting, and we are working hard to repay them with the best service, kindness, and delicious food.]
Taxi drivers, who are often the first to greet tourists, have also promised courteous and safe driving.
[Choi Hyang-seob / Taxi Driver: For those who have come to Yeosu to visit, we will do our absolute best to ensure they have a safe and relaxing stay so they will want to come back again.]
They also plan to contribute as tourism guides, directing visitors to major tourist spots and the expo site.
Some 900 volunteers have also decided to lend a hand by serving as guides for visitors across various field locations, handling venue guidance, transportation, and interpretation.
Ahead of a large-scale international event held 14 years after the 2012 World Expo, the entire city of Yeosu is currently buzzing with excitement in preparation for its guests.
