Yong Hye-in, nominated as Minister of Gender Equality and Family alongside Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won, continues to stir up the political arena. Democratic Party Leader Kim Min-seok stated, "I am listening to many concerns and criticisms and thinking deeply about them," while the People Power Party (PPP), which is demanding the withdrawal of Yong's nomination, stepped up its offensive by arguing she should even resign from her seat as a member of the National Assembly.

Democratic Party Leader Kim Min-seok has directly addressed the issue for the first time regarding nominee Yong Hye-in, who announced she would maintain her proportional representation lawmaker seat even after being nominated as Minister of Gender Equality and Family.
During the Democratic Party's official YouTube broadcast, Leader Kim said, "In personnel hearings, hidden corruption usually emerges to become an issue, but the issue this time is a matter of judgment regarding facts that were already exposed even without holding a hearing."
Kim added that he respects the various voices of the public as they are and feels a need to reflect on them, indicating that he is closely monitoring public sentiment.

People Power Party Leader Jang Dong-hyuk called the Basic Income Party, to which nominee Yong belongs, a "party of organized income" and repeatedly demanded the withdrawal of Yong's nomination.
Regarding the reason why nominee Yong is reluctant to give up her lawmaker seat, Leader Jang claimed, "It is to ensure that the funding does not dry up, not only for nominee Yong's spouse but also to sustain the organization of the Basic Income Party."
Leader Jang also aimed his criticism at the Democratic Party.
