U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the 2nd (local time) that he will personally tour swing states to conduct intensive support rallies to help the Republican Party maintain its majorities in both the Senate and the House of Representatives ahead of the midterm elections in November.
During a dinner with Republican lawmakers at the White House Rose Garden that day, President Trump said, "I will be with you 100 percent until November," adding, "I will be traveling here and there and giving many speeches."
In particular, Trump outlined his plan to heavily target competitive regions, stating, "All of this comes down to about 35 districts."
Asking the Republican leadership for a list of candidates in closely contested areas, he said, "I will visit all 35 of those places and see if we can get everyone elected."
Stating that "it's not good to start too early because people forget," Trump said he plans to focus his campaigning on roughly the last 30 days before election day on November 3.
He also vowed to break the so-called "midterm curse," in which the president's party has historically struggled in every midterm election.
"Whether you're a good president or a great president, you tend to lose in the midterms," President Trump said. "We are going to flip that."
He emphasized, "We need to elect House members and senators and protect our incumbent lawmakers."
On the other hand, he repeatedly attacked the Democratic Party as "communists," urging the consolidation of the Republican Party.
Claiming that "they are not socialists; they skipped the socialist stage and went straight to communism," President Trump said, "We will defeat the Democratic communists."
Regarding the war situation with Iran, he reiterated his claim that the United States is winning.
Turning to Defense (War) Secretary Pete Hegseth, who attended the event, President Trump commended him, saying, "You did a great job last night regarding Iran," and added, "We are winning very big."
He also claimed that Iran's military power and economic situation have deteriorated significantly, stating that Iran's surrender is "now just a matter of time."
"We now control the Strait of Hormuz, and numerous oil tankers pass through there day and night," President Trump said. "So far, Iran has taken very few measures to stop it. We will maintain this state."
