Two people were injured after a truck traveling on a highway collided with a road maintenance vehicle.
At around 9:50 p.m. yesterday (September 2), a truck driven by a 62-year-old man surnamed A crashed into a stationary vehicle conducting road maintenance near the Chungju Interchange on the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway.
Two people, including driver A, were injured in the accident and received hospital treatment, though they are reportedly not in life-threatening condition.
Due to the impact of the crash, canned beer and other beverages loaded on the truck spilled across the road. Traffic in the area was temporarily blocked entirely to clear the debris, causing inconvenience for motorists.
Police have determined that drunk driving was not involved and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
