A fire broke out at an apartment complex in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, sending five residents to the hospital and prompting the evacuation of about 50 others.
The fire started at around 2:10 a.m. today (September 3) at an apartment located in Sinbong-dong, Suji-gu, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Fire authorities mobilized around 30 pieces of equipment and about 80 personnel, extinguishing the blaze in approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes after receiving the report.
So far, five people have been reported to have inhaled smoke and received treatment at a hospital.
Additionally, about 50 startled residents were urgently evacuated.
Fire authorities believe the fire originated on the second floor of the apartment and are currently investigating the exact cause and the scale of the property damage.
