A Taiwanese expert has claimed that the Chinese People's Liberation Army is accelerating its preparations for an invasion of Taiwan.
According to Taiwanese media outlets such as the Liberty Times and the United Daily News, the Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR), a think tank under Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense, made the remarks regarding the "Report on China's Military Power" submitted by the Ministry of Defense to the parliament yesterday.
Compared to last year's report on China's military power, researchers analyzed that this year's report shows China actively incorporating lessons from international conflicts, such as the wars in Ukraine and Iran, into its training.
They stated that China is preparing strategies utilizing the Z-20 attack helicopter, the latest Type 076 amphibious assault ship, and new special landing barges capable of deploying drones.
Through these means, China's first-wave assault forces are reportedly aiming to bypass Taiwan's coastal defense lines and penetrate the main island of Taiwan.
Consequently, they projected that China's plan for an invasion of Taiwan will be completed between 2030 and 2035.
The institute analyzed that the command structure confusion caused by Chinese President Xi Jinping's recent massive purges of high-ranking officials does not actually impact national power.
Meanwhile, China's military pressure targeting Taiwan has actually intensified recently, raising anxiety.
The Taiwan Coast Guard stated that it detected four Chinese coast guard vessels approaching the restricted waters of Kinmen, a Taiwanese territory, last August.
The Taiwanese government analyzes that these actions by the Chinese coast guard harbor intentions to deploy "gray zone tactics" to provoke Taiwan under the pretext of managing its own fishing boats.
