Rain continues to fall today (Sept. 1) due to the influence of a stationary front.
Over the past four days, heavy downpours dumped over 522 mm of rain on Nakwol-do in Yeonggwang and more than 200 mm in Hongseong.
Currently, rain is falling in the greater Seoul area and Gangwon Province, while scattered showers are passing through the southern regions, though the rain bands have weakened significantly.
Rain and showers are expected to linger in some areas until this evening.
Meanwhile, sweltering and humid weather persists in the southern regions.
Today, daytime temperatures in Gyeongju soared to 34.7°C (94°F).
Tomorrow morning, temperatures are expected to start at 25°C (77°F) in Busan, while daytime highs will exceed 30°C (86°F) mainly in the south, keeping the heat going.
Scattered showers are also forecasted to pass through the southern regions tomorrow afternoon.
