The government is set to supply record-breaking quantities of holiday items ahead of Chuseok, alongside large-scale discount support for agricultural, livestock, and fishery products.
During a Cabinet meeting held today, the government announced its Chuseok livelihood stabilization measures, stating that it will release a total of 183,000 tons of high-demand items into the market—including agricultural, forestry, and livestock products such as napa cabbage, radishes, apples, pears, beef, and pork, as well as fishery products like Alaska pollock and squid.
This volume is 1.6 times the regular supply level.
Additionally, the government will inject 103 billion KRW to provide discounts of up to 50 percent on agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, and up to 64 percent on processed foods such as instant noodles and bread.
