Netflix has confirmed the production of its new series "Maderesa" and unveiled its casting lineup featuring Nana, Kim Dan, and Jung Gun-joo.
"Maderesa" follows a cold-blooded criminal psychologist and professor named Maderesa as she dives into unsolved murder cases with the help of Park Seol, a teaching assistant hiding secrets behind an innocent face, and Yu Ah-ram, a longtime friend and prosecutor, ultimately confronting hidden truths and emotions. By exquisitely intertwining the thriller elements surrounding unsolved cases with the subtle and escalating emotional currents between the characters, the series is expected to deliver an unprecedented genre experience.
Actor Nana takes on the role of Maderesa, a criminal psychologist digging into unsolved cases while carrying past trauma, showcasing an intense presence and complex inner self. Next-generation star Kim Dan has been cast as Park Seol, a teaching assistant who hides secrets behind a smile, bringing tension to the story. Actor Jung Gun-joo plays Yu Ah-ram, Maderesa's longtime friend and prosecutor, adding depth to the character relationships through delicate emotional portrayals.
The series is directed by Jang Young-woo, who has deeply explored character narratives in works such as "Queen of Tears" and "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls".
