Yesterday (August 31), daily rainfall reached 161mm in Seocheon, 118mm in Nonsan, 110mm in Buyeo, and 118mm in Gyeryong, all in South Chungnam Province.
More than 40 reports of downed trees and flooding were filed across various parts of South Chungnam.
This greenhouse in Nonsan, South Chungnam, was previously hit by a whirlwind last week.
Rainwater continued to pour into the collapsed greenhouse, turning the entire interior into a waterlogged pool.
Lettuce ready for harvest comes out by the roots with just a slight pull.
Farmers cannot even begin to think about recovery while heavy rain persists, as they must wait for the rain to stop.

Last night near the Anseong Service Area in Gyeonggi Province, a 25-ton trailer collided with a passenger car that had skidded on the wet road. A woman in her 50s, who was a passenger in the car, sustained serious injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Additionally, near the Gubong Tunnel in Daejeon, a 4.5-ton truck skidded on the rainy road and overturned, injuring the driver. In Hanam, Gyeonggi Province, a 7.5-ton truck rear-ended a stationary 12-ton truck on a wet road, resulting in the death of the 7.5-ton truck driver, a man in his 70s.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety reported that there were over 520 fire-response dispatches nationwide yesterday due to rain damage, such as flooded homes and rockslides. As strong rain is forecasted today primarily along the western coast of South Chungnam, the ministry urged thorough caution.
