Yanggu County's signature specialty, melons, are in full season and harvesting is underway. As a high-income crop, farmer satisfaction is high. Yanggu County is also running smart farm projects for young farmers, transforming into a farmer-friendly city.

Harvesting is in full swing ahead of the Chuseok holiday peak for Yanggu's representative specialty, the melon.
This Yanggu melon was picked just today.
When measuring the sugar content directly, it exceeded 18 Brix.
Yanggu melons are shipped from the summer season until around Chuseok.
As they gain spotlight as a high-income crop, more than 290 tons are projected to be produced across 15 hectares this year.
With marketability higher than ever, the faces of the farmers greeting the harvest season are full of smiles.

Yanggu County is supporting the cultivation of various crops utilizing smart farms, not just melons.
In particular, a 4-hectare regional specialized rental smart farm has been established in Haean-myeon, allowing young people lacking capital to farm without the burden of initial costs.
Recently, vine-ripened tomatoes and cherry tomatoes cultivated by young farmers were also shipped from this location.
Yanggu County plans to go beyond simple facility rentals by strengthening tailored consulting, ranging from specialized education to marketing and securing sales channels, through the smart farm operation support center.
