A woman in her 30s, who reported being a victim of dating violence, was caught when responding police officers discovered syringes suspected of being used for drug administration at her residence.
The Suwon Yeongtong Police Station announced today (August 31) that it has booked a woman in her 30s, identified as A, on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act (administration).
A is suspected of administering methamphetamine at her residence in Maetan-dong, Yeongtong-gu, Suwon.
Earlier today at around 1:00 AM, police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a dating violence report from A.
While inspecting the premises, officers discovered around 40 disposable syringes inside the home that appeared to have been used for drug administration.
Police accompanied A to the police station voluntarily to investigate whether she had administered drugs, and during the process, A stated that she had administered methamphetamine.
Subsequent preliminary reagent tests on A's urine and residue remaining in the syringes both tested positive for methamphetamine.
Police booked A based on the test results and her statements.
A police official stated, "We plan to send the samples collected from A and the syringes secured at the scene to the National Forensic Service for detailed appraisal," adding, "Based on A's statements, we will investigate how she acquired the methamphetamine and plan to expand our investigation to include sellers and distributors."
