President Lee Jae-myung has carried out a cabinet reshuffle affecting six ministries, including the economic, justice, and defense sectors.
Chief of Staff Kang Hoon-sik announced in a briefing today (the 30th) that Lee Hyung-il, the current First Vice Minister of Finance and Economy, has been nominated as the candidate for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy.
Hong Ji-sun, the current Second Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, was nominated as the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport; Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Lee So-young as the Minister of SMEs and Startups; and Kang Shin-chul, former Deputy Commander of the ROK-US Combined Forces Command, as the Minister of National Defense.
Democratic Party of Korea lawmaker Kim Seung-won was nominated as the Minister of Justice, and Basic Income Party lawmaker Yong Hye-in was nominated as the Minister of Gender Equality and Family.
