The South Korean government is additionally dispatching a joint rapid response team to Nepal to support search and rescue operations for the nine South Koreans missing due to severe flooding.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it plans to dispatch an additional joint rapid response team consisting of one official from the ministry and eight from the National Fire Agency to Nepal today (August 29).
The newly dispatched response team is scheduled to depart from Incheon International Airport at 2 p.m. today.
Previously, the government dispatched an 11-member rapid response team to Nepal on August 27, led by Lim Sang-woo, the government representative for overseas Korean protection and consular affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The nine additionally dispatched members plan to join the existing team in searching for and rescuing the missing persons.
