Facing what he termed America's "economic bullying campaign," Iranian Supreme Leader Seyed Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has issued a strong warning that no acts dividing national consensus will be tolerated.
In a message to the nation on local time August 28 marking "Government Week," Mojtaba Khamenei strongly called for national unity and economic self-reliance.
"Any acts that undermine social cohesion are strictly prohibited," Khamenei urged. "Dichotomous frames such as 'war versus negotiation' and 'unity versus extremism' have directly and indirectly harmed the Iranian people in the past. Refrain from remarks that dampen public morale and foment anxiety."
He went on to praise the government's efforts in delivering essential services and managing energy despite intense sanctions and pressure from the United States and Israel.
"There is no need to expose national weaknesses or flaws that could embolden the enemy," Khamenei instructed. "Instead, actively promote the national power and positive achievements of a 'strong Iran' both domestically and abroad."
He also laid out specific directions for overcoming the livelihood and economic crisis.
Citing inflation, unemployment, and rising prices as urgent tasks, Khamenei ordered that the so-called "Resistance Economy," which increases reliance on domestic production, be placed at the very top of state governance.
Furthermore, he emphasized the need to pursue gradual de-dollarization for economic independence and to exercise smart management in restricting indiscriminate imports.
He did not omit the importance of innovation and cultural values for national development.
Khamenei demanded that the government break away from entrenched practices across all areas of society, including agriculture, industry, and culture, and promptly embrace the technologies and innovations proposed by young experts.
