Heavy Rain Advisories Issued for Chungcheong and Honam, Rain to Expand Nationwide Tomorrow

As a large amount of moisture flows in from the south, heavy rain is pouring across regions south of Chungcheong Province.

Today (August 28), Gwangyang in South Jeolla Province recorded 119 mm of rainfall alone, while Sejong experienced extreme downpours reaching up to 80 mm per hour.

Heavy rain bands continue to lash various areas, and heavy rain advisories remain in effect for the Chungcheong and Honam regions.

Tomorrow morning, the rain will expand nationwide.

Tomorrow, 20 to 60 mm of rain is expected in the greater Seoul metropolitan area, with up to 80 mm in South Chungcheong and North Jeolla provinces. Another round of heavy rain of up to 80 mm is also forecasted for the Chungcheong and Honam regions on Sunday.

Rain is expected to continue in the southern regions until Monday, and people are advised to watch out for concentrated downpours of 20 to 50 mm per hour in various places.
