The KOSPI closed nearly 2% lower today (the 28th) as the semiconductor twin giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix plummeted simultaneously.
The KOSPI finished the session down 123.49 points, or 1.79%, at 6,788.88.
The index started the day down 65.83 points, or 0.95%, at 6,846.54. Early in the session, it briefly narrowed its losses to 0.15%, but ultimately failed to turn upward and widened its losses again.
The KOSDAQ index fluctuated during the session and closed slightly higher.
The KOSDAQ finished trading up 0.76 points, or 0.09%, at 838.41.
