A luxury foreign car collided in a chain reaction with vehicles including a motorcycle in downtown Seoul, injuring four people, including one who was rushed in a state of cardiac arrest.
At around 11:40 p.m. yesterday (the 27th), near the Bangbang Intersection in Seocho-gu, Seoul, a Maserati vehicle driven by an individual surnamed A successively struck two preceding cars, a taxi, and a motorcycle.
It was reported that the impact of the crash pushed the taxi into a collision with a bus as well.
Due to the accident, the motorcycle driver sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital in cardiac arrest, while three others—including a bus passenger, the taxi driver, and a pedestrian—also received hospital treatment.
Driver A was arrested by the police immediately following the accident.
A witness told SBS, "A did not appear to be in a normal condition."
An official from the Seoul Suseo Police Station stated, "We are investigating the overall incident, including potential drunk driving and drug use," adding, "We cannot disclose specific charges at this time."
