The funeral of a person surnamed Chang, who was found dead in Jeju, is being held in a solemn atmosphere. The bereaved family has urged a thorough investigation into the police officers who falsely closed the case, while also criticizing the lax police system.

The mortuary for Chang, who was found dead 104 days after a missing person report was filed with the police, has been set up at a hospital in Jeju City.
Guarding the mortuary with heavy expressions, the bereaved family recalled, "Chang had a kind heart, always eager to help others but reluctant to ask for help."

Stating that they hope Chang's death will no longer be glossed over, the family emphasized that they cannot forgive Police Inspector Boo of the Jeju Seobu Police Station—who is accused of arbitrarily and falsely closing the missing person report filed by the family—and demanded a thorough investigation.

They also expressed anger over the police system itself, pointing out that a missing person case could be effectively buried by a single investigator, going beyond the deviation of an individual officer.
[Bereaved Family Member of Chang : I think I have lost all trust in the missing persons investigation team. Isn't this a system worse than any small and medium-sized enterprise, or even a really small neighborhood store?]
Standing before the remains of Chang, who had been left neglected for over 100 days, the family urged that comprehensive measures be established to ensure such an incident never happens again.
[Bereaved Family Member of Chang : They are talking about implementing dual approvals now, but since things have turned out this way, I hope they thoroughly review everything and fix the system properly from the ground up.]
