The Korea Archery Association announced that it is launching the "2026 Youth Sports Foundation Building Project" to expand opportunities for elementary and middle school students to participate in archery.
Through this project, which targets 63 schools nationwide, the Archery Association will provide archery lessons utilizing after-school hours and other programs.
At each participating school, classes of 20 students will learn archery once a week for up to 15 weeks.
Depending on each school's schedule, archery classes using actual equipment will be held from August to December, allowing students to learn basic postures and game rules.
In connection with the classes, two tournaments will also be held for these students.
A nationwide comprehensive tournament will be held once, providing a venue for competition and exchange where students from various schools can gather in one place to play matches.
In addition, a non-face-to-face league tournament will be operated for students who find it difficult to participate in offline competitions.
The Archery Association has been running the youth sports foundation building project, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, since 2024.
Building on its accumulated operational experience, the association has expanded participation this year from primarily elementary school students to include first-year middle school students, while also broadening opportunities for underprivileged students.
