Police are reportedly investigating a popular YouTuber and internet broadcaster with 700,000 subscribers over allegations of obtaining proxy prescriptions for sleeping pills.
The Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced today (the 27th) that it booked a man in his 30s, surnamed Park, on July 30 on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
Park is suspected of having a acquaintance obtain prescriptions for sleeping pills, which are psychotropic substances, on his behalf and taking them.
Police are understood to have received a related report in mid-June.
Police plan to verify the types of medication Park was prescribed through his acquaintances and whether he actually took them.
Park began internet broadcasting in 2012 and currently runs a YouTube channel with approximately 706,000 subscribers.
