The Jeju Provincial Police Agency chief officially apologized today (August 27) regarding the false closure of the disappearance case involving the late Jang Mi-ran and other related issues.
This comes 13 days after an investigation was launched into the responsible police officers.
During a command meeting this morning, Jeju Provincial Police Agency Chief Go Pyeong-ki bowed his head in apology, stating, "The police shirked their duties and inflicted indelible pain on the bereaved families through false words and actions."
Chief Go promised a comprehensive reinvestigation of all missing person cases within the province moving forward.
