Yes, a man in his 30s, surnamed A, is accused of using more than 1,000 foreign-named accounts to mass-purchase and resell tickets for popular performances such as idol concerts for about a year starting in November 2024.

Using a macro program he developed himself, he even bypassed anti-bot security measures to buy up to 80 tickets per minute. He designed his system to post ticket sales listings by the second, resulting in a net profit of 420 million won over the course of a year.

When the police searched A's home, more than 200 million won in cash poured out of a safe.

The police seized the cash, took steps to preserve the criminal proceeds so they cannot be disposed of, and are investigating whether there are any accomplices.
