A financial incident involving approximately KRW 2.4 billion has occurred at Hana Bank.
Hana Bank announced today (the 26th) that a financial incident amounting to KRW 2,417,380,000 occurred due to fraud by an external party.
The incident took place between September 18, 2023, and March 20 of this year, with the estimated loss expected to reach up to KRW 1,417,380,000.
Regarding how the incident was uncovered, Hana Bank stated, "Financial accident disclosures and media reports from other financial institutions."
It is reported to be the same fraud case that previously occurred at the Korea Development Bank and IBK Industrial Bank of Korea.
The two banks previously disclosed financial incidents involving KRW 58.3 billion and KRW 9.4 billion, respectively, on the 6th and 20th due to fraud by external parties.
