An elementary schooler has been seriously injured after a moving ladder truck toppled over at an apartment complex in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.
At around 8:38 a.m. today (the 26th), a moving ladder truck tipped onto its side at an apartment complex in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan.
Due to the accident, a 7-year-old elementary schooler, identified as A, who was passing by the area, was crushed by the fallen ladder truck and sustained severe injuries.
Child A was transported to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
The police believe that the accident occurred while moving company officials were positioning the ladder against the exterior wall to lift moving items to the 11th floor of a 28-story apartment building, causing the ladder truck to tip over.
The police plan to book and investigate the moving company officials on charges of professional negligence resulting in injury.
A police official stated, "We plan to verify whether safety regulations were followed, including whether the ladder truck's stabilizers were properly installed."
