It has been confirmed that a Chinese man in his 30s, surnamed Jeong, who was arrested on charges including murder for killing a female Chinese exchange student in Gyeongsan, Gyeongbuk Province, traveled to Dongdaegu Station immediately after the crime wearing women's clothing and covering his face.
According to the Gyeongsan Police Station in Gyeongbuk Province today (the 26th), closed-circuit (CC)TV footage showed Jeong entering his residence with the victim at around 2:00 p.m. on the 20th.
It was reported that no footage showed Jeong forcefully dragging the victim when the two entered the residence.
Subsequent investigations revealed that Jeong left the residence alone, dressed in women's clothing and with his face covered by a hat and other items.
He traveled to Dongdaegu Station, and it was found that at a certain point, he turned off the victim's mobile phone.
Police also confirmed that after traveling to Dongdaegu Station, Jeong changed his clothes in a nearby restroom and returned to his residence.
Police believe Jeong acted this way to disrupt the investigation and are considering adding charges of obstruction of official duties.
A police official stated, "Considering that he deceived the police in the early stages of the case, we plan to apply charges of obstruction of official duties."
