A doctor, known to have appeared on terrestrial television broadcasts, has been apprehended by the police on charges of illegally filming the bodies of women near Yongsan Station.
The Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced that it arrested a doctor, referred to as A, red-handed in April on charges of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (filming using cameras or other devices).
Doctor A is accused of using a mobile phone to illegally film the bodies of two women in front of Yongsan Station on April 11.
At the time, police arrested Doctor A at the scene and conducted a forensic examination of his mobile phone. The forensic analysis uncovered additional photos of 8 to 9 women that Doctor A had taken several years prior.
Police forwarded Doctor A to the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office in June, and the Western District Prosecutors' Office issued a suspension of indictment later that same month.
Doctor A reportedly submitted his resignation to the hospital and is no longer working there.
