MU:CON 2026, a global music fair bringing together domestic and international popular music artists and industry experts, is set to take place.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 26th that MU:CON will be held from September 2 to 4 at the Cube Convention Center in Sangam-dong and the Yongsan Park, Seoul.
Marking its 15th anniversary this year, MU:CON is a global music market designed to support local musicians and music and entertainment companies in entering overseas markets while providing business and networking opportunities.
This year's event will feature global showcases with 42 participating artist teams, business programs, conferences, and workshops.
The showcases will be held across two stages inside the Sangam Cube Convention Center on September 2 and 3, and at the outdoor stage of Yongsan Park on September 4.
A diverse lineup of musicians will take to the stage, including SAY MY NAME, CLASS:y, KIRA'S, Sanmanhan Siseon, Hajin, Kkachisan, GOGO$\text{}$GAK, Rothy, Stella Jang, Seo Do Band, and KARDI.
The performances will be broadcast live via the official KOCCA MUSIC YouTube channel (@KOCCAMUSIC).
The conference, which will explore key issues in the music industry and shifts in the global market, will take place at the Sangam-dong Cube Convention Center from September 2 to 4.
On the first day, September 2, singer Kim Jae-joong, CEO of iNKODE, will deliver a keynote speech titled "From Superstar to Architect of the K-Music New Ecosystem."
Following that, Eun Ji-hyang, head of SBS Radio, and music critic Lim Hee-yun will have a discussion under the theme "How Media Digs into Indie Music."
On September 3, a special panel talk covering strategies for entering the Indian market will also be held.
At the MWM Conference on September 4, Tony Lee, co-founder of ACRCloud, and Dora Jin, general manager at Tencent Music, will attend to hold open sessions and panel talks on topics such as AI-generated music.
The business matching program will also introduce a "Convergence Matching" zone, inviting representatives from advertising, gaming, and brand marketing to conduct business consultations.
Kim Yoon-ji, President of the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated, "Our popular music is key content driving the spread of K-culture," adding, "We will actively support MU:CON so that it serves as a foundation for promising domestic musicians and music companies to discover new business opportunities and expand into overseas markets."
