Fire Breaks Out at Gunsan Warehouse, Destroying 4 Tons of Stored Food

A fire broke out at around 9:30 p.m. yesterday (August 25) at a farmhouse's auxiliary warehouse in Seongsan-myeon, Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do, and was extinguished by firefighting authorities in about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

The fire destroyed a 37-square-meter building and 4 tons of stored food items, including pickled vegetables (jangajji), resulting in property damage estimated at 50 million won by the fire department.

There were no casualties.

Police and firefighting authorities are investigating the cause of the fire based on a witness statement reporting smoke coming from the roof.
