A female Chinese exchange student in her 20s, surnamed A, who went missing in Daegu on the 20th, has been found dead six days after her disappearance.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency announced that it has apprehended and is currently investigating a man in his 30s, surnamed B, on charges of causing A's death.
Police executed an arrest warrant for B in Gyeongsan at around 7:30 p.m. today, and found A dead inside B's residence in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan.
After traveling to Daegu on the night of the 20th, A lost contact with her family, and her last tracked whereabouts were confirmed to be Dongdaegu Station.
While tracing A's movements, police detected signs of a crime and identified B as a suspect.
Police plan to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of A's death and are questioning B regarding his motive and the specific details of the incident.
They also plan to conduct a search and seizure at B's residence and other locations to secure additional evidence related to the crime.
