A Chinese exchange student in her 20s, who went missing in Daegu on the 20th, has been found dead six days after her disappearance.
The Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency announced today (the 25th) that it has apprehended and is currently investigating a man in his 30s, identified as B, on charges of causing the death of A (25).
Police executed an arrest warrant for B in Gyeongsan at around 7:29 p.m. today and subsequently found A dead inside B's residence in Hayang-eup, Gyeongsan.
A lost contact with her family after traveling to Daegu on the night of the 20th.
Her final whereabouts were confirmed to be Dongdaegu Station.
While tracing A's movements, police detected signs of a crime and identified B as a suspect.
Police plan to conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause of A's death, while investigating B regarding the motive and specific circumstances of the crime.
They also plan to secure additional evidence related to the crime by conducting a search and seizure of B's residence and other locations.
A police official stated, "It is difficult to disclose specific details of the investigation."
