Band Dragon Pony member Pyun Sung Hyun is ending his activities with the team and concluding his exclusive contract with his agency, Antenna.

Antenna released an official statement through social media on the 25th, stating, "After long discussions with member Pyun Sung Hyun regarding his future activities, we have mutually agreed to conclude his exclusive contract following thorough conversations." The agency added, "Accordingly, Pyun Sung Hyun will conclude his activities as a member of Dragon Pony as of August 25, 2026."

The agency continued, "The remaining three members of Dragon Pony will continue their activities. We ask for your warm encouragement on the journeys that Dragon Pony and Pyun Sung Hyun will forge in their respective paths." Antenna bowed its head, saying, "We sincerely apologize for causing concern to fans with this sudden news. We will do our utmost so that Dragon Pony can greet fans with even better music."

News of Pyun Sung Hyun's departure comes about a month after he temporarily halted team activities due to health reasons.

Previously, Antenna announced on the 22nd of last month that Pyun Sung Hyun would be taking a temporary hiatus due to health issues and that Dragon Pony would promote as a three-member system for the time being. At the time, the agency explained that details regarding future activities would be announced separately, but after about a month of hiatus, the situation concluded not with a return from temporary suspension, but with a complete departure from the team and termination of the exclusive contract.

The sudden news has sparked a mix of bewilderment and disappointment among fans. Voices questioning the sudden decision process have emerged, with comments such as, "I cannot understand how he is leaving the group just a month after saying he was taking a break for health reasons" and "It feels like it was decided too suddenly without sufficient explanation."

Dragon Pony is a four-member band consisting of An Tae Gyu, Pyun Sung Hyun, Kwon Se Hyuk, and Ko Gang Hun, who officially debuted in September 2024 with their first mini-album "POP UP." Operating as a self-producing band where all members participate in lyric writing, composition, and arrangement, they have released tracks such as "Not Out," "Radio Silence," "Oh Perfect!," and "Morse Code." Pyun Sung Hyun served as the bassist for the group and participated in producing major tracks.

With Pyun Sung Hyun's departure, Dragon Pony has been reorganized into a three-member system featuring An Tae Gyu, Kwon Se Hyuk, and Ko Gang Hun, approximately one year and 11 months after their debut.
