The warrant hearing has concluded for Police Officer Boo, who was previously emergency-arrested for falsely closing the missing person case of Jang Mi-ran in Jeju, and is now awaiting the court's decision. Meanwhile, the police have placed all four members of the command line for this case on standby.

The warrant hearing for Police Officer Boo, who is accused of falsely closing a missing person case under their charge, lasted about an hour and a half before wrapping up.
Wearing a black hat, Officer Boo made no comments and boarded a transport vehicle after completing the pre-trial suspect interrogation.
Officer Boo was previously released after a review of the legality of the emergency arrest was accepted yesterday, just two days after the emergency arrest.
Officer Boo is accused of falsely closing the case just two hours after Jang Mi-ran's disappearance was reported on May 15 under the pretext that "contact was made with the person concerned."
An investigation into communication records revealed no history of calls between Jang and Officer Boo, and circumstances were found indicating that information regarding Jang was deleted from the missing person profiling management list.
The police requested an arrest warrant for Officer Boo, citing concerns over the "destruction of evidence and flight," and the prosecution immediately filed the warrant with the court.
Officer Boo has also falsely closed other missing person reports in the same manner as the Jang case, with two cases confirmed so far.
An autopsy was conducted today on the body found in Hallim-eup, Jeju City, yesterday (August 24), and police announced they received a verbal opinion that the forensic results match the missing person.
As the National Police Agency launched an inspection to determine whether the case handling, command, and reporting were conducted appropriately, it announced that all four members of the command line—including the former chief of the Jeju Seobu Police Station at the time the case was first reported, the current chief, the head of the detective division, and the head of the missing persons team—have been relieved of their duties and placed on standby.
The decision on whether to arrest Officer Boo is expected to be finalized later today.
