Former 2NE1 member and singer Minzy is signaling the start of a new chapter that vividly captures her own musical colors.
Minzy entered the official countdown for her comeback by releasing her official website, a new logo, and profile images at 9:00 AM on August 25. She will release a new song and music video to meet fans on September 28.
This new track is built upon a foundation of soulful R&B. Notably, Minzy participated directly across the entire creative process, including producing, songwriting, and lyric composition, deeply infusing her own musical colors and stories. Minzy stated, "I deeply participated in the overall creative process from producing to writing lyrics and composing. This is a very personal work for me, and I think it captures my current image as an artist as it is."
She continued to share her anticipation, saying, "Above all, fans will be able to experience a fresh and unique energy where they can sense a side of me different from before and how I have evolved musically." Regarding the live performances on stage, she added, "This music will come alive even more vividly when vocals, emotions, and energy are added on stage. I want to share that moment with everyone and let them feel the music in a more raw and personal way."
Minzy debuted as a member of the group 2NE1, receiving immense love for her powerful performances, vocals, and unmatched stage presence. Celebrating its 15th debut anniversary last year, 2NE1 held an Asia tour spanning 27 shows across 12 cities, concluding their grand journey with a total of 220,000 audience members following their encore concert in Seoul last April.
On August 23, Minzy drew attention by attending BIGBANG's 20th debut anniversary concert alongside Sandara Park and CL. However, fellow 2NE1 member Park Bom was not seen at the gathering. Park Bom suspended her activities in August of last year due to health reasons.
