YouTuber Park Wi has faced a backlash, including the cancellation of a scheduled lecture, after releasing CCTV footage of his fall accident on a KTX train.
Previously, Park Wi fell from his wheelchair while getting off a KTX train after the wheel caught on the foot of a public service worker who was helping him. He uploaded the CCTV footage capturing this moment to his YouTube channel, drawing criticism that it was excessive.
Park Wi apologized, admitting that his method of delivery was immature.
However, the controversy persisted, and as a fallout, his lectures scheduled for this Thursday and Friday were canceled.
In addition, the number of subscribers to his YouTube channel, which had exceeded 1 million, dropped.
Some netizens also flooded the social media account of his wife, Song Ji-eun, with malicious comments.
