A body believed to be Jang Mi-ran, who went missing in Jeju, was discovered this morning (August 24). This case caused great shock as the active-duty police officer who received the missing persons report lied to the family and arbitrarily closed the case without even verifying the facts. The shock grew even deeper as it was revealed that this was not the first time the police officer had falsely closed a missing persons case.
