HYBE's new girl group TUIDE stepped onto the debut stage today.
During their media showcase held at the Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul this afternoon (the 24th), TUIDE performed the title track "SUN KISS" and the b-side track "Girls" from their 1st mini-album "TUNE & PLAY" for the first time.
TUIDE is the first girl group launched by ABD, a new label under HYBE, and marks HYBE's first rookie girl group debut in two years since KATSEYE.
The seven-member group consists of Seoyeon, the younger sister of TWICE member JIHYO, along with Seohee, Elena, Jia, Saki, Seah, and Lee Haneuh.
Seoyeon shared, "My older sister JIHYO of TWICE advised me, 'You'll be seeing your members more than your family, so trust and lean on each other as you promote.'"
Derived from "Tune the tide," which means to adjust and harmonize with the flow, the team name was produced under the general direction of Master Professional Han Sung-soo, who has discovered and nurtured K-pop stars such as SEVENTEEN, After School, IZ*ONE, and TWS.
Seoyeon said, "True to our team name of tuning the flow, we will experience the various flows of the world and showcase TUIDE's unique joy."
Elena mentioned that Producer Han Sung-soo's remark that "finding fun in the practice process is important" left a strong impression on her, adding, "We do our best every moment with the mindset of conveying our energy to those watching."
GroovyRoom participated in producing their debut album.
A total of five tracks are included in the album, featuring the title track "SUN KISS" as well as "ABD" and "Echo."
When asked about their role models, the members explained, "There are many wonderful senior artists, but we haven't set a specific role model for the team because TUIDE aims to move forward based on our own distinct color."
Asked about their future goals, Seah stated, "We want to make the name 'TUIDE' known to many people. We want to hear that our music is worth adding to playlists, and become a team whose next music is always anticipated."
Jia said, "We hope to receive positive reviews through this promotion and definitely win the Rookie of the Year award."
