Board of Audit and Inspection Chief Has Breakfast with Vice Ministers: "Ensure Officials Who Work Hard Are Not Penalized"

Kim Ho-chul, Chairman of the Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI), held a breakfast meeting with vice ministers from various government ministries today (24th) and promised, "We will ensure that public officials who work diligently are not penalized."

During the breakfast meeting held this morning (24th), Chairman Kim stated, "The BAI is making extensive efforts to promote proactive administration throughout the public sector, such as abolishing audits on the appropriateness of policy decisions, expanding the scope of immunity for proactive administration, and reinforcing departments in charge of preliminary consulting."

He added, "It is useless if public officials cannot feel these changes firsthand. Therefore, I ask that the vice ministers, who oversee policy implementation, effectively convey the BAI's efforts and transformed demeanor to frontline officials so they can truly experience them."

Chairman Kim emphasized, "Since the BAI and each ministry share a common goal of enabling citizens to live safely and prosperously, we need to make efforts to actively communicate and understand one another."

Attendees at today's meeting included the 2nd Vice Minister of Economy and Finance, the 1st Vice Minister of Science and ICT, the 1st Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, the 1st Vice Minister of Climate, Energy and Environment, the Vice Minister of Employment and Labor, the Vice Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, the 1st Vice Minister of SMEs and Startups, and the Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Commission.
