Director Yeon Sang-ho will hold a conversation with renowned Japanese master director Hirokazu Kore-eda at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Director Yeon is set to take on another special schedule at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, where he has been invited with his film "Lost Paradise." On September 14 at 4:00 PM local time, Director Yeon will attend the official industry program "TIFF Summit: Dialogues" to engage in a conversation with Japan's leading master director Hirokazu Kore-eda.
"TIFF Summit: Dialogues" is an industry program presented by the Toronto International Film Festival, gathering creators and figures leading the global film and content industries—such as directors, writers, actors, and producers—to have in-depth discussions on storytelling, the art of filmmaking, and the creative process. This session brings together two storytellers who have captivated global audiences with their unique cinematic universes, Director Yeon Sang-ho and Director Hirokazu Kore-eda, drawing enthusiastic anticipation following the announcement of their meeting.
During the dialogue, Director Yeon is expected to discuss his original cinematic universe, genre imagination, and creative filmmaking process, as well as IP adaptation and expansion, and the ongoing global expansion of Asian cinema.
Previously in the first half of this year, Director Yeon was officially invited to the Midnight Screenings section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival with "Colony," followed by his new film "Lost Paradise" being selected for the Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival for the second consecutive year in the second half.
With the world premiere of "Lost Paradise" also scheduled on-site at this year's Toronto International Film Festival, the addition of the dialogue with Director Hirokazu Kore-eda is expected to make Director Yeon's schedule in Toronto particularly memorable.
His new film "Lost Paradise" will greet audiences in theaters this coming October.
