Special buses have drawn attention in Bangladesh by helping female passengers use public transportation more safely.

These are the so-called pink buses that have recently started operating in Bangladesh.
They are exclusively for women, with both the drivers and conductors being female, and male passengers are not allowed to board.
Until now, women in Bangladesh have faced severe inconvenience from unwanted physical contact and sexual harassment inside crowded public transport.
The pink buses are equipped with CCTV cameras, Wi-Fi, and vehicle tracking systems, allowing female passengers to use them with much greater peace of mind.
The Bangladeshi government plans to further expand women-only buses by adding 50 more electric buses in the future.
