▲ BIGBANG's 20th Anniversary World Tour "XX: COSMOS" Concert in Goyang
Celebrating their 20th debut anniversary, the group BIGBANG met with a total of some 100,000 fans through their world tour held at the Goyang Stadium from August 21 to 23.
This concert marks BIGBANG's first domestic solo concert in 8 years and 8 months, following their "LAST DANCE" tour concert in Seoul held at the Gocheok Sky Dome in December 2017.
Appearing on stage to thunderous cheers, the three members G-DRAGON, Taeyang, and DAESUNG delivered a consecutive lineup of their greatest hit songs from the past 20 years, including "Fantastic Baby," "LOSER," "Haru Haru," "Lies," and "IF YOU," for nearly three hours.
Fans cheered every time an intro played, singing along to almost every section from the first verse to the chorus while chanting "BIGBANG."
On the large LED screen above the stage, galaxies, planets, and constellations embodying COSMOS, the title of this world tour, unfolded in a three-dimensional and dynamic manner.
During the solo stages, DAESUNG performed "Look at Me, Gwisun" and "Over Limit," while Taeyang presented "BAD" and "Ringa Linga," and G-DRAGON performed "Crayon" and "Crooked."
In particular, the first live performance of the new song "BIG," written and composed by G-DRAGON to mark their 20th debut anniversary, was also held.
G-DRAGON remarked, "(Today's concert is) the culmination of everything we have done," while Taeyang expressed his hope, saying, "A new song has come out in 4 years and 4 months, and we are holding a domestic concert in 8 years and 8 months. I hope we can stay energetic and perform until we are 88 years old."
They specifically revealed that another new song would be released as part of their 20th debut anniversary project.
DAESUNG brought up the topic by saying, "While promoting this time, there were opinions that it would be regrettable to wrap up our 20th-anniversary activities with just 'BIG,'" and Taeyang chimed in, saying, "If we end with just a single song called 'BIG,' this wouldn't be 'BIG,' it would be nothing more than 'X-Small.'"
G-DRAGON hinted that planning for the new song is already complete, stating, "Everything is in my head."
After performing all 26 songs on the setlist, BIGBANG returned to the stage in response to fans chanting for an encore while singing "Heaven," treating them to encore tracks such as "Sunset Glow," "Road to Take," and "Still Life" to conclude the concert.
Starting with this Goyang concert, BIGBANG will hold a total of 33 performances across 19 cities worldwide, including Oakland in the United States, Paris in France, London in the United Kingdom, and Sydney in Australia.
World-class staff participated in this tour, including top-tier live session musicians who have worked with Usher, Rihanna, and Post Malone; Mike Carson, who directed the "2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show"; and Es Devlin, who designed the stage for the "2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony."
