The Cheonan Dongnam Police Station in South Chungcheong Province is investigating a teenage foreign male who has been arrested on charges of stabbing and killing his father and injuring his mother.
The suspect, a minor identified as A, is accused of fatally stabbing his father in his 40s with a weapon at an apartment in Dongnam-gu, Cheonan, at around 1:00 a.m. today.
The mother, also in her 40s, sustained severe injuries from the weapon wielded by A and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
A, a university student, is understood to have directly called 119 immediately after the crime.
During police questioning, A stated, "I wielded the weapon while trying to break up a fight between my parents over business issues."
The family members are all reported to be foreign nationals, and the arrested son will be investigated in accordance with domestic laws.
Police plan to apply for an arrest warrant after conducting further questioning of A.
