Korean-Canadian golfer Richard T. Lee has climbed to the sole lead of the second round at LIV Golf Indianapolis, the final tournament of the LIV Golf season.
During the second round held at The Club at Chatham Hills (par 70) in Westfield, Indiana, on the 22nd (Korea time), Lee carded four-under-par 66 with six birdies and two bogeys.
Starting the day in a tie for second after shooting seven under par the previous day, Lee posted a total of 11-under 129. He claimed the sole lead by a one-stroke margin over Thomas Detry of Belgium, Dustin Johnson of the United States, and Laurie Canter of England, who are tied for second at 10-under 130.
Lee, who earned his LIV Golf card for this season by winning the LIV Golf Promotions event in January of this year, recorded his best finish of the season as a runner-up at LIV Golf Singapore in March.
Starting strong with consecutive birdies on holes 2 and 3, Lee added alternating birdies on the 5th (par 4) and 7th (par 4) holes to maintain his momentum, though he stumbled briefly with back-to-back bogeys on holes 9 and 10.
Lee regained his composure with consecutive birdies on holes 13 and 14 and parred the remaining holes to secure the top spot.
Song Young-han of Korea Golf Club shot a three-under 67 with six birdies and three bogeys on this day, bringing his total to 6-under 134 and rising five spots from the previous day to a tie for 20th.
Korea Golf Club captain An Byeong-hun posted a one-under 69 with three birdies and two bogeys, placing in a tie for 28th at 5-under 135 overall.
Kim Min-kyu (4-under 136) and Moon Do-yeob (2-under 138) finished in ties for 32nd and 39th, respectively.
