Who is the real culprit behind the hotel murder?
On the August 21 broadcast of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama "Flex X Cop Season 2" (hereinafter "Flex X Cop 2"), Jin Yi-soo and the Major Crimes Team 1 investigated a murder case that took place at a hotel.
On this day, Jin Yi-soo and the Major Crimes Team 1 were assigned to investigate a murder that occurred the day before White Day. A body was discovered in a hotel room where a couple had planned to spend a special time celebrating White Day.
Jin Yi-soo and Major Crimes Team 1 rushed to the hotel immediately. However, they ran into Park Joon-young and Yoon Ji-won there. Park Joon-young, who had taken a day off claiming he was going to see his mother, appeared at the hotel with Yoon Ji-won, prompting Jin Yi-soo to look at them suspiciously. The two were secretly dating.
With Park Joon-young and Yoon Ji-won joining the investigation, Major Crimes Team 1 began examining the crime scene. The victim was Oh Min-young, who worked at the hotel concierge.
Major Crimes Team 1 began door-to-door inquiries and found out that the guest staying in Suite 701 had been calling Oh Min-young constantly.
Jin Yi-soo and Joo Hye-ra went to visit the guest in room 701 together, and the person who appeared was conglomerate figure Kang Choon-sik. Having a previous acquaintance with Kang Choon-sik, Jin Yi-soo asked him why he had repeatedly called Oh Min-young.
In response, Kang Choon-sik revealed that he had fallen in love with Oh Min-young at first sight and had confessed his feelings to her the previous day, only to be rejected.
Meanwhile, Park Joon-young and Choi Kyung-jin investigated Oh Min-young's home. They were surprised to find her room filled with luxury goods. In particular, a rare limited-edition bag that is hard for anyone to easily obtain caught their attention.
Oh Min-young's body was found in room 709, which had no recent guests. Major Crimes Team 1 also uncovered the fact that the CCTV on the 7th floor had been intentionally turned off by someone.
Additionally, Jin Yi-soo learned through the roommaids that the wife and daughter of the hotel's CEO had assaulted Oh Min-young the previous Wednesday. The roommaids stated there were rumors that the CEO had been pursuing Oh Min-young and that they had even witnessed the two together.
Jin Yi-soo and Joo Hye-ra focused on the CEO's wife and daughter. They also found out that the two had appeared at the hotel in disguise on the day of the incident.
Room 709 had no guests from the time the 7th floor CCTV recording was suspended. General Manager Yoo Jong-yeol confessed that it was done under the CEO's instructions. In fact, the CEO's fingerprints were found most frequently in room 709, where the body was discovered.
In response, the CEO admitted to using room 709 for personal purposes. He also did not deny his relationship with Oh Min-young. However, he caught attention by stating that he did not know the 7th-floor CCTV was not recording.
The CEO's wife stated that she had come to the hotel to catch her husband in the act of an affair. She confessed that she went to the 7th floor around 7:50 PM but her husband was nowhere to be found, and she later found him in his office around 8:20 PM. She raised questions by revealing that front desk employee Jeon Yujin was with the CEO at that time.
Forensic analysis revealed that Oh Min-young was not murdered in room 709, but was killed elsewhere and moved there. Hydrogen peroxide left on Oh Min-young's clothes came from attempts to wipe away bloodstains at the original scene.
Jin Yi-soo asked the roommaids to gather information. Soon after, new information was delivered to Jin Yi-soo.
Bloodstains were discovered in room 701 after Kang Choon-sik had checked out and left. This led Jin Yi-soo and Joo Hye-ra to chase after the fleeing Kang Choon-sik.
Meanwhile, a cookie video revealed at the end of the broadcast showed Yoo Sung-won, the youngest son of the media group UBS, raising curiosity about what actions he will take hereafter.
